Dairy sustainability “lunch & learn” at 12 p.m. CST on May 10: Newtrient and the water-quality credit clearinghouse concept

SAVE THE DATE for the DSSA webinar at 12 p.m. CST on Friday, May  10.

The dairy sustainability “lunch and learn” series meets quarterly over the lunch hour to provide an overview of DBA and Edge’s involvement in sustainability projects across Wisconsin and highlights specific innovations currently underway.

The first half hour will provide an overview of the Dairy Strong Sustainability Alliance and the second half hour will spotlight Newtrient, the water quality clearinghouse concept and synergies with farmer-led groups within the DSSA.

DBA and The Nature Conservancy organized the Dairy Strong Sustainability Alliance in 2016 with the goal of helping dairy farmers make tangible improvements to the environment and other areas of their farms. Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy and several other groups are also partnering in this effort. The alliance is working to foster projects at the farm-level and ultimately to include processors, brands and other stakeholders.
